Don't Hug Me I'm Scared (episode 3)The dissonance in performance mode and subject matter Use of sickeningly cute puppets/songs/bright colours to disarm viewers The abrupt silence in the middle - disturbing, plays with the audience's imagination of things left unsaid (we often imagine much darker things when they are suggested/unsaid) Intentional humour in moments of dark comedy, a convention overdone (such as the "Psycho" moment when Cordelia emerged from the shadows with a harmless little whipper operating in all futility) - scary/disturbing but we laugh anyway (coping mechanism? unsure of why we are laughing?)
